The Adventures of Miss Petitfour

I have had the pleasure of illustrating The Adventures of Miss Petitfour children’s book series, written by award-winning author Anne Michaels. Published by Tundra Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House Canada, this fully illustrated chapter book series features full-colour artwork throughout, including endpapers, maps, vignettes, and full-page illustrations.

To date there are two titles in the series, The Adventures of Miss Petitfour and The Further Adventures of Miss Petitfour. These stories follow the whimsical escapades of Miss Petitfour and her sixteen cats as they take to the skies with the help of a magical tablecloth, embarking on charming and imaginative adventures.

The visual style of the books is soft and nostalgic, with a pastel colour palette created using gouache and mixed media. The illustrations are designed to evoke a sense of warmth, whimsy, and timelessness that complements the playful stories. Creating the visual identity for Miss Petitfour, her cats, her friends and her world, as well as illustrating her adventures, was such a joy.
